Mission Report: Elba II Orbital Transit Station
Lieutenant K'Niras Sh'howul:
Mission Commanding Officer
Second Officer U.S.S. Musashi

Team:
Lieutenant K'Niras Sh'howul
Lieutenant JG Shras th'Zarath
Able Crewman Vanessa Strong
Able Crewman Orson Mulholland

My team and myself were beamed aboard the Transit Station from the U.S.S. Musashi via the transporter. Upon our arrival it was noted immedately that the station was in a serious state of disarray. The air was not circulating, per life support systems and the lights were offline. We did not initially move from the command center of the station, but remained until we could provide ourselves with better lighting and life support. On initial inspection it appeared that the station had been boarded by an invading force, but with closer inspection and tricorder readings my team was able to determine that no one had used any sort of energy weapon to cause the damage to the station's functions. As we widened our search area we discovered the bodies of two of the previous crew.

One was male and one female. Both were deceased with long grouping of wounds covering their bodies. They very much appeared to have been mauled by an animal. Some of the wounds were jagged as if torn and some were clean and straight, making an exact guess as to the cause almost impossible without aid from a medical professional. The bodies were later identified as Lieutenant Commander Stockwell Trace and Lieutenant Junior Grade Kathlyn Harned. While the team examined the bodies and speculated on what could have caused the damage Able Crewman Vanessa Strong identified, via tricorder, that there was another life form aboard the station that did not appear to be humanoid.

During this time the team did not progress any further than the corridor. Several scans were conducted, but with the life support failing it was difficult to determine what exactly was aboard the station. Once the life support and lighting systems were back up and running the team quickly discovered that we were dealing with the Le-matya of Vulcan. Crewman Strong filled in the team on the animal's capabilities and we formulated a plan to stun the creature and capture it. Once the plan was put into place we were able to erect a level 10 force field around the animal and contain it for transportation elsewhere.

Once the animal was confined the team was able to search the station for the remaining crew. All hands were accounted for and unfortunately, all hands were lost. Their bodies were discovered in many different states of dismemberment. When we reached the area where the Le-matya had been contained, it was not obvious how it had managed to exit its enclosure without help. Further inspection of the footage that was taken will be necessary before a conclusion can be reached.

Twenty crew members were lost. Fifteen Terrans, three Vulcans, a Bolian and a Caitian. There were no others among the dead that could have been part of an attacking force.
