Just Another Day.

Mission:
S01E02 D-8 With the Devil
Location: Elba II Psychiatric Facility- High Security Ward
Timeline: Current
Aeryn skittered out of the room and the door hissed shut just before the clash of metal on metal was heard behind her. Panting she leaned against the bulkhead, her eyes closing and her head resting back so she might calm her own racing heart. She'd missed the mutterings of the deranged mind behind this room, since when she'd opened the door she'd been lost in thought. Aeryn'd grown accustomed to not having to watch her back on the brief trip to the Musashi and she was already missing the pristine medical bay she had entered. I wish I could go back there. I hate this place.
It was then that the screaming began again behind the door- it's occupant enraged at having missed her target with the thrown food tray. Her food was now likely scattered across the small room that she was confined to. Aeryn would dearly have loved to have paused to catch her breath, but this sort of attack was mild and not nearly the worst of things to have happened here. Her skin crawled as she realized she was going to have to listen to what was going on in there, since the screaming had yet to abate. Rubbing her hands over the pristine white jumpsuit that nurses in this section had to wear, she tried to ease the goosebumps away from her skin.
Fortunately, each room came with a recorder module and was under constant surveillance, at least in this wing. Some of the other areas that was not necessary, but here in the lockdown unit- it was required. Reaching up the blue haired nurse flipped a switch and the visual and audio input of the room was being sent to the central recording studio.
"Nurse Vinia- you have been motionless for 5 minutes. Are you well?" a voice came out of the speaker beside her making her squeak with surprise. That was professional. Way to go!
"I am well Serene. "
"Please report your delay"
"Alpha wing, room 419 needs to see the Psychiatrist as soon as he is available. Patient is again having auditory and visual command hallucinations. She threw her tray at me and started screaming at the top of her lungs. Something about the darkness cutting her to pieces and how she wasn't going to allow me to eat her. I'm afraid I didn't catch all of it but I have started recording."
"Very good Nurse Vinia. Do you require further rest period?"
"Negative. "
There was a click as the Vulcan woman- Serene, who manned the comm channel that did the monitoring of staff signed off to speak to another member of the facility. Aeryn's fingers came to caress the tiny bulge in her uniform just at the back of the neck, where her locator beacon was. Another safety measure built in to the system- to keep the staff from being injured by the patients. It was a real possibility and Aeryn had been to central sickbay more than once with injuries inflicted by a patient. The worst was a bite that actually left a scar of teeth marks in her arm. She pressed her middle two fingertips of both hands to the raspberry on her forehead, cupping her palms over her eyes, in what was clearly a gesture to the divine for patience.
Pressing the button beside the room she spoke "420- entering."
It was just that quickly that she went from the violent to the absurd. Suppressing a snort of laughter at the patient who was currently upside down in his chair. His legs, bare from the knees down were tapping a merry tattoo on the wall, as his rapidly purpling face was resting on the extended foot rest. That told her he'd been like this for a while and was probably hurting for oxygenation. The air reeked of stale urine and something else she didn't want to identify. Tucking the injector into her pocket she went to right him, muttering more to herself that to him... "How did you even..."
