No more traing days

Earth - 2255

Alphonso Phillips had been pretty much a model citizen. Working on the Chicago Police Department since finishing Job Corp and being accepted into the Police Academy. This would have been enough for him, until they came. Talk about eye opening. The first time he saw a picture of a Klingon, it sent shivers down his spin. But he had long since gotten over the feeling and was now an expert on how to kill them. The Klingon body was not like the human body. It was more rugged. they were literally built for combat. But that was not going to stop the human race, not if Al Phillips had anything to say about it.

He was once taught that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So he read anything he could find on Earths newest enemy. And he took it to heart that the average human would lose in a hand to hand contest with most Klingons. So he gathered info on them anywhere he could find it. His new favorite term or catch phrase was Blunt Force Trauma. That's what it took effectively to stop them animals. So the tools he would use would be the best at delivering just that.

As the Master at Arms, he knew his weapons well. He loved the 45 caliber Pistol. It delivered all its punch right on the target. It was the way it was designed. Then there was the shot gun. Not powerful enough to breach the hull of the ship, but more than powerful enough to take down a Klingon or two. So he had insisted that these weapons be a part of his arsenal if he was going to be the new Master at Arms of the Musashi. from his studies he knew that the name meant military warrior and also own posses or store house. But there had also been a great Swordsman by the same name. Musashi Miyamoto who lived 1584 - 1645 0n Earth. All of this was going through his head as he drew the equipment he needed from the Quartermaster. Up until now he had been stationed on Earth helping train shooters and learning all he could about the enemy.

Now he was going to be putting it all into practice as the Master of Arm on the Musashi.

"Thanks QM, I'll take good care of these fossils of yours. I'm sure there will be those who say I'm crazy for using these out dated weapons. But when dealing with hard headed species like the Klingons, you need Blunt Force Trauma. And these two weapons deliver that better than any others I know of that won't harm the ship at the same time." remarked Alphonso

"I am inclined to agree with you bro, but, But how you gonna teach an old dog new tricks. These boys are just getting used to phaser pistols. And you want them to use weapons that are hundreds or years old." said the Quarter Master

"Three days ago when I found out what my new post was, I cornered the commandant and told him my theory based on my research. Even he said it made sense, so I gave the brass a demonstration. They had forgotten how effective these weapons could be. But I showed em and here we are." said Al Phillips

"But how you gonna teach these soft cream puffs to use a weapon that kicks like that. They are not used to it." replied the QM

"If you know the basics, the 8 steady hold factors, you can teach anyone to shoot these weapons. And they are. Position, Grip, Sight Alignment and Tigger Control. And you couple that with Breath, Relax, Aim, and Squeeze, and you have the combination to becoming a perfect shot with these old weapons." said Al Phillips

"And you are going to make that happen?" he asked

"So help me God or my name ain't Alphonso B, Phillips." he said with pure confidence.

"O.K. I wish you luck. Tell me how that works out for you." said the Quarter Master

"Don't worry, you will read about our successes soon enough. Just let me run into some Klingons, that's just how I'll leave em. Klinging on to life support." and he laughed with the older man, as the QM repeated his comment. "Klinging on to life support..." the two men were almost in tears they laughed so hard.

As the equipment was being tagged to be beamed up to the transport ship that would take him to Tellar where his ship was being repaired, Al took the time to say a few good byes. And after which he was on his way. The Musashi was about to get a real mean dude in their ranks.

An unconventional man with an unconventional means of taking on the Klingons. This has me interested and Fig does like out of the box thinking. So, this could be...interesting. ;)
