Personality & Traits

General Overview As a medic Rob is calm in crisis on the outside. On the inside Rob's professional and personal life are in tatters making him a man on the edge. He tries to see the best in everybody, but has a suspicious mind and finds it hard to trust anyone.
Strengths & Weaknesses His main strengths lie in his ability to help treat the sick and injured. He is good in a crisis.

Weaknesses. He has never gotten used to weapons despite being a pretty good shot. A trait that most security officers would be proud off. As transporters are still pretty new to starships, he hates going through them.
Ambitions Rob always wanted to become a medic, even a Doctor one day. He has started from the very bottom and made his way to a medic. It remains to be seen if he commands his own starship one day. He would like to be a chief medical officer.
Hobbies & Interests History has always been his passion especially world war I and II. He has collected artifacts dating back to the Crimean war.

He loves nothing more than to read old western novels.

Personal History Rob was born to Gregory and Rebecca Grey. He is the oldest of the 2 boys. In the early days, Rob was spoiled rotten and mostly got his own way. He was 10 when his brother William came along and he started to find he was no longer the center of attention. Rob was envious of the attention that his younger sibling was getting.

He had started to grow close to his baby brother once he started school. It wasn't long before they were at the same school and Will had the gift of the gab, so managed to find himself getting out of all sorts of trouble where Rob would always be at the end of a beating with bullies. He could never stand up to them and always ended up bruised.

At 15 Rob started to settle down at school and plan his future. At this point his little brother was no longer at the same education establishment and the pressure on him dipped. Rob's grades improved and he passed all the qualifications he needed to get into Starfleet Medical and the Academy.

The Academy first year was a little bit of a struggle getting into the routine of classes and assessments. He had a bad time when a fellow cadet he was involved with was killed in shuttle accident. Rob was distraught at this point and took it out on everyone. His grades slipped and he started to become a loner.

After some counselling Rob returned to the Academy and finished his first year successfully and entered his second year. He wouldn't let any get close so his scores were some of the best in the year. He decided to concentrate on the Medical Division.

After 2 further years he passed out of the Academy and joined as a member of the U.S.S. Jennings. He was a junior medic on a training voyage when the ship was diverted to a Federation colony under attack from Klingons. It was the first time that he had seen casualties and deaths in combat. It left many cadets traumatized after that incident. The Jennings was decommissioned after that and no other training ships were commissioned.

Rob was promoted to the rank of Ensign and assigned to Starbase 4 as a responder medic. That's where he met and fell in love with Karen. Their relationship was romantic and caring and they married very quickly as Karen found out she was pregnant. Due to the continuing skirmish with the Klingons, ships short of medics made use and Rob was assigned to U.S.S. Jessop as Medical Officer where he served till it was decommission and he was reassigned.
